Court Ordered Referrals
The Institute for Cognitive Therapy is contracted with the State of Utah to assist clients with domestic violence treatment (for both offenders and survivors), individuals struggling with substance use, or individuals needing help with general mental health issues. We accept referrals from courts, the Department of Workforce Services, the Department for Children and Family Services, Juvenile Justice and Youth Services, and other state entities.
If you are in need of a mandated assessment, please call us before making an appointment. You will need to complete all necessary paperwork before your appointment for an assessment can be created. All paperwork can be completed electronically. If you are not able to complete this paperwork electronically, let us know and we’ll make arrangements for you to complete your paperwork in our office.
What We Help With:
Domestic Violence – Offenders
We offer assessments, individual therapy, and group therapy for both male and female domestic violence offenders. If the court or other state government entity has referred you for a domestic violence offender’s assessment, please give us a call! We’ll send you the paperwork you will need to complete and make an appointment for your assessment or your treatment.
Anger Management, Thinking Errors, or Other Court-Mandated Workshops
We offer anger management, thinking errors, and other court-mandated workshops. These workshops are generally 2-8 hours in length (depending on the workshop needed) and will be completed individually with one of our therapists. For a full list of the skill building seminars we offer, please click here.
Drugs and Alcohol
We offer assessments, individual therapy, and often group therapy (depending on how many clients are in need of group treatment) for individuals who require either court or other state-entity mandated substance use treatment. If the court or other state government entity has referred you for a substance use assessment, please give us a call! We’ll send you the paperwork you will need to complete and make an appointment for your assessment or your treatment.
Domestic Violence – Survivors
We offer assessments, individual therapy, and sometimes group therapy (depending on how many clients are in need of group treatment) for both male and female domestic violence survivors. If the court or other state government entity has referred you for a domestic violence survivor’s assessment, please give us a call! We’ll send you the paperwork you will need to complete and make an appointment for your assessment or your treatment.
